Breathwork

Breathe not just to stay alive, but to start living.

Breathwork has ancient roots and has been used  in Egypt, Taoism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Yoga, Qigong, Shamanism, Sufism, Tantra, martial arts and nearly all native indigenous cultures to support healing and shifts in consciousness.

By allowing our brain activity to shift to theta and gamma waves, we bypass the conscious mind's defensive responses and activate the mind's natural healing processes. This unlocks traumatic memories and allows bio-energetic blockages to be released, creating new neural pathways.

We can then break previous patterns and form new ways of thinking, behaving and responding.
By intentionally activating the sympathetic nervous system (normally activated in fight/flight mode), in a safe, controlled way through conscious, connected breathing, deeply held traumas, emotions and tensions are released and we can then move from survival mode into higher levels of consciousness and creativity.

"If you want to conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath"- Amit Ray

Benefits of breathwork

Take conscious control of your breathing  to activate your body’s natural ability to heal and to form new neural pathways.

Diaphragmatic breathing lowers cortisol and can reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety.

Take more oxygen into the body and increase oxygen flow to the brain, enhancing cognitive functions, energy and mental clarity.

Improve sleep quality.

Learn to regulate your emotions and to release emotions stored in the body.

Improve physical wellbeing as emotional balance is achieved.

Improve cardio-vascular health by lowering blood pressure and heart rate and improving your immune system by increasing lymphatic flow and oxygenating tissues.

Breathing affects our autonomic nervous system which regulates heart rate, blood pressure, digestion and stress responses.

Activate the parasympathetic nervous system to assist in relaxation; reduce cortisol; lower activity in the amygdala (fight/flight); stimulate vagus nerve to support relaxation and resilience.

Take control and to bring into conscious awareness a normally unconscious process of breathing, so you can then change your energy and change your life.

Achieve balance and health in body, mind and spirit.

Transmute emotions of survival into elevated emotions of creation
